After my last disappointing top, I have to show you a successful project... so successful I have bought more fabric to repeat this one.
The Rachel Comey top and skirt - Vogue 1247. The skirt is made from a heavy denim I had in my stash and the top from a polyester fabric called Clip Georgette purchase at Lincraft recently. I am wearing a cream knit camisole under the camisole. I have made the skirt a size 12 and lengthened it by 3 inches and the top was made in a size 10.
I am not going to say a lot about the sewing as there are many well written reviews of these pieces.
Loving this outfit and particularly the top...
Love the drape of this top, I think the pleats at the shoulders really work well for this top...
Pockets...
I tried it with a green (woven) camisole...
Happy now....
I just love how you made this top up in a sheer fabric! I must be the only sewer who has not made this pattern. Must make!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good, no wonder you wanna make it again :)
ReplyDeleteSnap! I was cutting this top cut out today in hanky linen, my second as well :) Your top is so lovely in the sheer fabric Sue, it looks great on you. Now I can't wait to finish mine lol.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Sue. I also love the effect of making your top in a sheer.
ReplyDeleteCool and light - just perfect for the current weather! Great sewing and it looks super on you...J
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I love that fabric - good comeback :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. This is a great top and I love the fabric you've used. This is a really useful pattern. It's flattering and stylish and will work in a range of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome top. I haven't seen it in a sheer before and it looks terrific.
ReplyDeleteI love your take on this pattern. I have it but have not yet made it up. After seeing your lovely version, I'm encouraged to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteLove the top made from the sheer fabric! And isn't the skirt awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit Sue! You deserve to be happy with this.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely! Did you keep the sleeves cuffs on the bias? I had such trouble with this, always wondering what others do! Looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteI did keep them on the bias. My only tip is that I hand baste a lot!
DeleteSassy! great outfit. This is a fun pattern...
ReplyDeleteOh a lovely outfit! The sheer fabric is perfect. I have two skirts in this pattern: a summer one cut out only and a corduroy one that just needs waistband finished. I'm happy to see the top on you as it says it suits inverted triangle shaped bodies and I am not, but it looks really good on you so I may try the top now.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had success and it is a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute outfit on you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to do this top in a sheer! I really like that look.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you smile Sue.
ReplyDeleteLove it. I have some 'special' fabric set aside for this pattern and after ill be on the hunt for a sheer with some texture like yours. Gorgeous!
